Working from home business solutions

Kirby Cross, 21 April 2009 – by Zo Nicholas

In todays economic climate everyone is looking for cost saving ideas. Its not only the family household that thinks twice about spending money but also employers. Working from home is becoming more and more a viable proposition to cut costs. For the family household it means less money spent on fuel, less time and energy wasted in commuting to work. For the employer less overheads and more often than not better productivity.

Companies like Viatel are already launching work from home packages ““Working from home can be the perfect solution to help rein in costs without losing valued employees”. The credit crunch affects everyones pockets, employers and employees alike. Approaching your employer with a work from home idea may just start the ball rolling in your favour. With modern technology there are daily more and more possibilities opening every day.

You may find some real working from home opportunities by scourning the various avenues on the internet, just type in what you are after in Google.com and see what comes up. There are many large intenational companies out there like Avon or Kleeneze for example who look for represntatives to sell their products. These kind of home business opportunities can be done in your spare time and can give you that added extra income which you look for. When my brother in law lost his job a few years ago he eventually found work, a work from home job, working for a big London retailer who needed homeworkers to make hand made boxes for their luxury chocolates. Not erxactly what he wished for, but work nonetheless. He became the stay at home dad while his wife became the main bread winner.

If you possess specialist skills that you wish to continue practising then “…the free-agent market is alive and well on sites like oDesk, Elance, and even Craigslist and Guru.com. In these contexts, hirers are looking for great value without the overhead” Source: NYTimes

Try looking at skills you already possess as an idea and solution to bring in an income. A hobby can turn into a full time income. If you love making cakes and have the passion and flair why not start with friends and family to spread the word. A shop bought cake is absolutely tasteless compared to the home made article. Even in an economic downturn people are still prepared to pay for quality.
